Squash Blossom Crew Opening Shoe Store in Large Biolab Space on Decatur Square

    Decatur Metro | June 14, 2012

Squash Blossom owner Talia Blanchard writes in…

We signed a lease yesterday for the former Biolab space next to cakes and ale. We plan a September opening (with fingers crossed) for a men’s/women’s/kids shoe & apparel store. The stores name is Sq/Ft. We are super excited!

Did I see kids shoe store? Be still my heart! It’s a little late for some of the growing feet in my family but much needed in Decatur.

Best of luck! How will the women’s clothing resemble or differ from what’s offered at Squash Blossom?

Hey folks! This store will be mainly shoes but we will have men’s/women’s clothing jewelry and accessories. Thank you Decatur for making such a great place to open independent businesses.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! I lamented the closing of Whit’s End, & the fact that nothing really sprang up in its place. Now that your new store will be carrying men’s clothing, he won’t be able to begrudge me indulging my shoe habit at the same time he shops for stuff for himself! SHOES!!! Woohoooooooo!!!

Kids shoes too? If so, the kind of shoes and service that Coggins in Marietta/Roswell provides is something that I always thought could work in Decatur. Or maybe even something a little more upscale like Sprong in Buckhead.

Talia if you are reading this, you should check out Kinnebrew’s in Americus, GA. They have been in business forever and offer great clothing for men, women and kids. They carry Peter Millar which is a great line for men. Also, George Dean’s and Dick Ferguson’s in Athens have great clothing for men. I have two boys so now I won’t ever have to leave Decatur. Congratulations to the crew at Squash Blossom.
