Decatur’s Touch-a-Truck Day March 3rd!!
Decatur Metro | February 7, 2012Another big event from Commissioner Patti Garrett’s blog.
Join Decatur Active Living on Saturday, March 3rd from 10am until 1pm for the annual Touch-a-Truck Event. This fun community event gives children of all ages an opportunity to touch, explore and see their favorite trucks or equipment on wheels. The City of Decatur and DeKalb County dump trucks, fire trucks, tractors, police cars and motorcycles and many other types of vehicles will be on display.
New this year: Ride your bicycle to the event. Decatur Police will be on hand to register your bicycle. In the event that it is lost or stolen, registration will aid in its safe return.
In case of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled for Saturday, April 21. For more information, contact Cheryl Burnette 678-553-6541 or cheryl.burnette@decaturga.com. Be sure to visit www.beactivedecatur.com for up to date information on all Active Living programs throughout the year.
The event will be held in the Callaway Building parking lot, according to the City of Decatur’s website.

This is one of my favorite Decatur events. Seventh heaven for a 3 year-old boy! The name alone is precious if slightly racy.
if it’s half as good as last year’s “Smell a Fireman Day” was, it will be a blast.
love this city!
Industrial civilization is literally killing life on this planet and we are celebrating touching trucks. Yeh!

If this was meant as satire, it was sublime.
Thankew.
Life has killed an awful lot of life and this planet too. Not sure that’s the best gauge for scorn.
Oh you mean killing OFF life. Is that true? Is the total # of life forms on earth decreasing?
Is this like Hands on a Hardbody?
That would be cool.
my husband calls it “Touch a Truck Driver” day. if only.
