I’ve never figured out what makes Trader Joe’s a young metro adult store–other than all the wine. But I’ve got to admit that I was young when I used to frequent it in California and I’m usually the oldest customer there now at the Midtown TJ’s.
The big one in the middle is the queen. The dab of white paint on her thorax identifies the year she was born so her beekeeper’s will know when it’s time to replace her.
Fun fact – queen bees, unlike other bees, can sting more than once.
I remember that from the Queen Bees in middle school!
