Attempted car break-in at Alon’s: Those pesky kids’ backpacks again!
I read the Alon’s headline and pictured the culprit going after a tray of almond macaroons. Felt a twinge of sympathy.
The BOA guy is a co-worker of mine. Way to go, Ken!
Something tells me Ken is a Flight of the Conchords fan…
Congrats to them on moving the immovable!
Super cute, and creative way to get the attention of a big corporation. But if you have to go to those lengths to get what you need, is that a company you really want to do business with? I didn’t close my BOA account when they toyed with the idea of the $5 debit fee, though I was beyond annoyed that they were intending on screwing their customers if they could get away with it. But a couple of months ago they actually started charging my account $9 a month, without even trying to find out if I was a customer that qualified for free checking. I hadn’t felt good about doing business with them for a while, but that was the final straw. I understand mortgages and checking/savings accounts are different animals and I hope they have a positive experience, but after spending 13 years as a BOA customer, I couldn’t be happier to be rid of them. Should have done it years ago.
If you’re eligible, i’d suggest USAA. Wife and I moved our checking to them 2 years ago after using them for the cars/houses insurance and never looked back.
Thanks- Looked at the website and it does look great, but already moved to Delta. And after seeing how relatively simple it was to get things untangled and moved, if the need arises to do it again, I’ll do it without hesitation.
CEO Ellis doesn’t want to lose more power?! I’m shocked and appalled sir!
That’s right…apparently, the laws were only ‘fair’ when they could block people from forming cities.
Because, if the CEO wants to have a debate about how cities are created, he need to look no farther than the last 40 years of history. Basically, the city of Atlanta, Fulton County, DeKalb, etc. blocked Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, etc. from incorporating for 30 years with procedural moves requiring ‘local legislation’ to be approved by the local delegation. The areas in any proposed city and their fate were 100% controlled by legislators outside of the city. They had literally 30 years to come up with a ‘fair’ process. However, they didn’t want cities…they wanted to protect their power.
In 1995, the pendulum swung the other way and removed the procedural impediments and the only argument they have is that it isn’t ‘fair.’ Boo hoo. Turnabout is fair play.
If you really are worried about cities popping up and losing the ability to provide municipal services, maybe you should run your county that respects the fact that citizens may have choices rather than running a bloated machine propped up by the ability to impose your political will at the local and state level.
If you lock a bird in a cage and ration her food, you can’t be mad when that bird flies away to look for food the first chance she gets.
+ 1 billion.
People want a voice and they haven’t had one in any meaningful sense in DeKalb County for a long time.
