Ack! Trash Amnesty Days are Here Already?!
Decatur Metro | April 26, 2011Dang. Not sure how I missed mentioning the start of Trash Amnesty Days in early April (sorry most of Oakhurst!), but here’s the link to the PDF for neighborhoods that have yet to have their trashy holiday this year.
They include…
- Winnona Park Neighborhood – Saturday April 30, 2011
- MAK Neighborhood – Saturday, May 7, 2011
- College Heights Neighborhood – May 14, 2011
- Westchester Neighborhood – May 21, 2011
- Decatur Heights Neighborhood – June 4, 2011
- Great Lakes June 11, 2011
- Lenox Place June 18, 2011

One of my favorite days of the year. Wish they took car parts, though. Have some old brake discs and shoes, and some other odds and ends from my mechanical exploits.
T-
Put them out anyway, but easily visible. The last couple of years we’ve had some pre-pick picking up going on. Worst case is you schlep them back in on Saturday night.
Anyone know if Midway Woods is included in “Winona Park?”
Oh wait, this is Decatur-Decatur, right…
I’m on North Candler Street, right by the Rec Center… can anybody tell me which neighborhood that is?
@Contessa The PDF link has a list of all the streets and their days.
In the PDF, it says North Candler Street is June 4 and is part of the Decatur Heights Neighborhood.
Oops. Totally missed that. Thanks, Keith!
My neighbors are way ahead of this; they’ve had their stuff out and ready for months. Although, the one seems to think pick up will be in the side yard. Will pick up include tubs and toilets?
Speaking of trash, anyone know a good place to dispose of old paint?
hey, where is ponce heights in this list? we are not included? what are we, chopped liver?
Under Westchester.
Couldn’t figure out “Ponce Heights” but found in, not on the City website or maps, but on Wikipedia as Ponce de Leon Heights! Do people really use that neighborhood term? Or is it another inscrutable label like the Clairemont East and West voting districts that are not actually aligned on an east-west axis. Too many Ponces–Ponce de Leon Ave., Ponce de Leon Place, Ponce de Leon Court, Poncey Highlands, Ponce Apts. etc.
