    Yet Another Coyote Sighting

    Decatur Metro | November 28, 2010

Shannon writes in that at around 11pm on Friday night two “fearless” coyotes stared down her car at 129 Upland Drive in Decatur.

They DO exist!  (Did I just quote an M&Ms commercial in a coyote post?)

I was wondering the same thing…well, after I thought “Gee, the coyotes won a staring contest with a vehicle…IMPRESSIVE!! Maybe that’s what all the pedestrians that get hit are trying to do.”

Be careful out there Decatur neighbors! I know they come out at early a.m. which seems to be a vulberalbe time, and be very careful if you are walking small pets. I’ve seen them around 5:45 am. Of course, the last time I gave such advice regarding HUMAN attackers, I was (thinly veilde) as being harsh and unseympethetic by a particular DM reader, so, after such tongue lashing, I say embrace our new ferel neighbors and embrace and celebrate y/our differences!!!!

Or, call DeKalb Animal Control- they do have a heart. These animals do need some help finding a productive home where they can find (healthy) food safely and live without causing harm to us or them.

Too damn funny about the Antoine Dodson reference. I had no idea who that was until a google search reveled this:

In addition, I wish that I knew about AWARE last week when we found a hurt bird. Thanks for the tip!

I do encourage readers to look at the awareone.org site. I just did. Seems like good levelheaded advice and information about our newer neighbors.

Or maybe we’re the “newer neighbors.” :-)

AWARE is a wonderful small organization that runs on very few resources. Folks, check out their list of needed supplies, which includes everything from rechargeable batteries to sweet potato baby food. (The little fuzzy guys love it.) They also have regular Sunday volunteer work projects at their facility, which is located at Arabia Mountain.
