    Rake & Run This Saturday!

    Decatur Metro | November 10, 2010

DHS teacher Chris Billingsley writes in…

The Decatur High School Close Up Club will hold a “Rake&Run” service project on Saturday, November 13 (rain date Nov. 20),from 8:00 until 4:00. A team of DHS students and their chaperons will do yard work at Decatur area homes, anything from raking and bagging leaves to cleaning gutters (adults clean gutters). This is a free service but donations will be accepted to help pay for our 2011 trip to Washington, D.C.

If you are interested, please contact Mr. C. Billingsley at cbillingsley@csdecatur.net

Here’s a great idea… If you have older neighbors who need yard help, first get their permission and then donate to the DHS team for yard services. Everybody wins!

Great idea! Or donate to yourself! Think of how many hours it takes you to rake your yard. Then think about what those hours would be worth if those were hours gained from your work leave. If it would take you four hours to rake and bag leaves by yourself and you earn $50/hour, then offer the Close Up Club $200! And put your feet up and read with a cup of hot cocoa!
