Decatur Stadium Lacrosse Confusion?

What is this all about?  CSD’s Athletics Director Carter Wilson sent this letter out to the community…

As you can imagine, the upgrade in the facilities at Decatur High School has created a great deal of excitement among both the students and the staff. From a teaching perspective, we are now able to offer a greater variety of courses and engage our students like never before.

In terms of athletics, having a place to call home has meant a lot to all of our teams. The football team had a non-losing season, our basketball teams both had winning seasons, and our spring sports are all off to great starts. Much of this is directly related to the facility improvements on campus.

Recently, there was confusion regarding the use of the field at Decatur Stadium by youth lacrosse teams.

City of Stone Mountain Finally Getting a Face-lift

Decatur Metro | March 29, 2010

Put a couple beers in me and get me talking about metro area towns and it’s inevitable that I’ll bring up Stone Mountain.

“Think about it!  That city has one of the largest tourist attractions in the state just minutes down the road, but the city’s downtown is a mess!”

Or something like that.

And like any good rant, mine was pretty devoid of facts.  I hadn’t exactly been down to Stone Mountain City Hall and asked any of these questions to anyone who might actually know the answer.  (The recipient of my rants were mainly friends too nice – or drunk – to tell me to shut up or strangers I’ve accosted in the line at Taqueria del Sol.)

But according to this morning’s AJC, the City of Stone Mountain has been trying to put some money into its streetscapes for at least the lifespan of my rant…
