Graffiti Romance
Decatur Metro | July 22, 2009Andisheh was overcome with emotion when he spotted this crime of passion on an abandoned commercial building on West College near Atlanta Avenue.
My graffiti-annoyance was short-circuited by the sentiments expressed. Someone is deeply in love. Someone with good handwriting, too.
Good luck third-person speaking “boy.” I can already see the proposal, (“Girl, will you marry boy?”), marriage (“Boy does”) and break-up, (“Boy is totally sick of girl telling boy what to do! Boy is going out to do some theraputic spray-painting!”).
Winnona Park Stud has an airtight alibi.
Hmm, Flaka thinks Winnona Park Stud has a guilty conscience! Although Flaka also wonders if George Costanza has an alibi?
There is more to the story – can’t remember where I saw it. There is a series of the graffiti romance. The good news is that the story has a happy ending – Boy gets Girl back.
Maybe it was over at inDecatur…will keep looking for it.
Oh, found it:

Looks like they got married a little over a month ago.
Boy is driven by impulse and regret. Please keep us apprised about the imminent divorce. The graffiti will be much more interesting and will likely show a deterioration in hand writing.
Porn stars! They’ve just lost that lovin’ feelin’, apparently.
Speaking of porn stars…it looks like Rob Jeremy was hanging out at the BSP recently.

icky
Poor old Ron. The last of the old-school porn stars who could get by on their…prowess…alone. I don’t think there’s enough money or hard liquor on the planet to induce me to “act” with him!
love this!
Why does Boy never wanting to lose girl again => legally binding contract?
^&^
Or does the paper work just make it harder for the girl to get away again…
“Hey! Come back here or I’ll sue you for breach of contract!”
@sitting pugs, Ouch! Why so cynical? Maybe Boy never wanting to lose girl again ==> desire for a freely given, publicly declared promise of eternal devotion, in front of god, friends and family. Or, as Joni Mitchell more succinctly put it, “To say ‘I love you’ right out loud.”
Cynical is certainly one window through which to view it… ^O^
Yep, your assessment of Boy’s desire is consistent with that of conventional society. And likely for most boys-and-girls (and hopefully boys-and-boys and girls-and-girls nationwide in the future), having that paper, that public affirmation is the most logical thing to do.
My POV just leaves room for the possibility that Boy can end up feeling the same way about more than one Girl. as could Girl feel the same way about other people that she does Boy.
I am conventional. No argument.
And, I like marriage. Not just mine, but the whole idea. Conventional, yes. But not an unworthy aspiration. Best wishes, Boy and Girl!
It is a sweet thoguht and story, but he has still vandalized property (unless he owns this building). Maybe the new bride will take away his spray cans.
I walk past that building often and frankly, the graffiti is an improvement.
Best wishes to the happy couple.
