    Nectar Now Open in Oakhurst

    Decatur Metro | February 18, 2009

The city’s Linda Harris sends along this announcement about Nectar’s Grand Opening in Oakhurst.  Though Scott informed us the smoothie/panini shop had opened a couple weeks ago, I thought folks might be interested in hearing a couple more details, especially since I can’t find a website for them yet!

    NECTAR ARRIVES IN DECATUR

A new concept just landed in Oakhurst Village, Decatur.

NECTAR serves fresh Raw Juices, Smoothies, Handcrafted Panini and Gourmet Ice Cream, all prepared with fresh and premium ingredients.  All the Smoothies are made from fresh frozen fruit with no artificial flavors or colors.

NECTAR Mega Smoothies are excellent blends that mix exotic fruit such as Amazonian Acai, Acerola and Cacao.

NECTAR features a Fresh Juice and Tonic Bar serving Organic Raw Juices made to order and Organic Wheat Grass shots with fresh lemon and ginger.  You may also add “Superfoods” to your drinks which include Lecithin, Organic Flax Seeds, Aloe Vera, Guarana and Kava.

The handcrafted Panini sandwiches are made with artisan bread filled with deli meats, cheese and organic veggies.  Breakfast Panini is served every morning. Vegetarian salad and soup also available daily.

Nectar brings to Decatur and East Side Residents an innovative, hip way to be healthy without sacrificing the taste!

not sure if they have a website. but, we stopped by on sunday for a panini and thought it was very tasty! didn’t try any of the smoothies or juices though. i’d recommend checking it out. the only negative…we felt it was a bit on the expensive side (i think most paninis were in the $7-9 range w/ chips) – but, for organic & quality, its often expected that the premium will be higher…plus it was really tasty.

We had three little ice cream cones that cost us nearly 11 bucks. And it was just Greenwood ice cream, nothing spectacular!

We went this morning and were very impressed! Great breakfast sandwiches with multi-grain breads and bagels. The smoothies were excellent. Very friendly service. Nice decor. You can call ahead and place your order for pickup if you’re in a hurry.

This is just what the neighborhood needed! I highly recommend it!

I love having this option in my neighborhood.

I had a breakfast panini one day and the smoothie with blueberry and cacao another day. Both were so tasty, but I absolutlely loved the smoothie and felt great all day. I’m addicted!! I just wish it was a little less expensive so I could get one every day.

      I found a website for Nectar – it’s http://www.nectarfoods.net. I LOVE their smoothies…I just can’t afford to go often.
