Can I Really Watch City Commission Meetings on TV?
Decatur Metro | September 20, 2008 | 7:35 pmOK…so I’m leisurely thumbing through the 2008 citizen survey Powerpoint (normal, well-adjusted people do that, right?), and I notice this line that says 77% of residents have never watched a city commission meeting on cable television. And I think to myself…”Huh? You can watch city commission meetings on cable?”
So off I go to all-powerful Google and search every variation of the words “decatur city commission”, “cable”, “television” imaginable, and the only reference I can find is in the “Learn About Our City! Have Fun!” kids coloring book! But I don’t want to color the commission meeting room right now! So I go to the city’s website search function…but I really should know better than using that hopeless tool.
So, can someone in that 33% of residents please fill me in? Can I DVR city commission meetings and watch them over and over again? What time and channel?
Please say yes!
“Yes you can!”
Unfortunately, I never can remember which of the access channels it’s on, but I’ve been successful at guessing it in the past. I actually intended to check last week but wasn’t at home when it started. It airs live.
I’ve watched the Decatur City Commission meetings live on Comcast Cable Channel 25 (Community Access). It repeats on Saturday on the same channel, but I can’t remember when. Will get back to you on that.
Thanks Andrea!
