2008 Great Decatur Beer Festival Tickets Now On Sale!

Decatur Metro | August 16, 2008

Oh man…I can’t believe I missed this! Rus points out that Decatur Beer Festival tickets went on sale online and at Decatur CD yesterday. A quick check confirms that they are indeed now on sale online, not sure how long it will take for Decatur CD to sell out.

Here are all the details you need: Sat. Oct 18th 12p-5p. $35. Over 100 beers. Complementary tasting glass. Limit of 4,000 tickets. It will sell out quickly and no tickets are available at the gate on the day of the event.

So buy your tickets now. Buy them online HERE.

UPDATE: As Carl notes below, Lauren, of AsianCajuns fame, designed this year’s logo (which was selected anonymously).  Congrats Lauren!  Looks fab-u-lous!

Also, just so folks realize: this year, we’ve made some changes in order to increase the quality of this fantastic event. We’ve decreased maximum attendance by 20% and will exclusively feature craft beer. There will be more room to move freely, and you’ll likely find the best collection yet of unique brews.

Tickets to the sold-out event have been available in the past on craigslist for over $100, so it’s wise the get them early. There are also limited volunteer opportunities available for those that participate in other Volunteer! Decatur events. So if you’d like to possibly be considered for one of those spots, make sure that you’re signed up to volunteer for the Decatur Book Festival. Contact Lee Ann Harvey at or 678.553.6548 ASAP to volunteer for the Book Festival. Lee Ann will then contact you at a later date with the volunteer options for the Great Decatur Beer Tasting Festival.

Also, props to AsianCajun Lauren for creating the award-winning logo for this year’s event. Submissions were reviewed anonymously, so it was particularly exciting to discover that the unanimous favorite happens to be from one of our most actively involved Decaturites!

    Holy cow! Awesome job Lauren!

Thanks for all the great additional info Carl! The whole “volunteer for the Book Festival, get to pour at the Beer Festival” might require a separate post for those that can’t keep up with the flood of comments.

For what it’s worth, tickets are selling well here at the store, and we sell more every day. Also for what it’s worth, the beer fest is a blast! Can’t wait.

And, don’t forget the beerfest is a big contributor to community causes – over $ 250K since it began.
