A reader wrote in yesterday with a tip that Waffle House was planning to open a location in downtown Decatur under Eddie’s Attic in the old Sammiches and Stuff/Little Shop space on North McDonough.

Responding to our inquiry, Decatur’s Asst. City Manager Lyn Menne tells DM that the city is aware that Waffle House is in negotiations for the space but is unaware of a signed lease.  According to Menne, Waffle House has looked at several sites in Decatur over the years.  She also notes that “Recently built new Waffle House operations near Georgia State and Georgia Tech have a more traditional design so it is a good fit for them to locate into an existing building [in Decatur] and bring back the historic character of the building.”
