Taste Closes in Decatur and Reopens at Phipps Plaza

    Decatur Metro | January 9, 2014 | 10:33 am

Bo sent along this note from the folks at Taste on Church Street…

    Dear Friends:

We hope you had a happy and healthy holiday season, and are looking forward to a great 2014!

We wanted to let you know that we have closed closed the Decatur Taste store this week, but we are happy to be well ensconced at Phipps Plaza, on the second floor above Tiffany’s. All of our holiday items are on sale, including our artisan flour sack towels, gourmet chocolates and hot chocolates, hot toddy mixes and other gourmet items.

We’ve got some great events coming up in in the next 2 months, and will be back in touch when those dates and time are firmed up.

Stay warm, and best to all! Hope to see you soon at Phipps!

    Best,

    Marcy

    Taste to Reopen

    Decatur Metro | September 5, 2010 | 9:03 am

A lot of people have been asking about this, online and off.  From the Decatur Focus…

“…owner Leslie Ring is reopening Taste and promises to bring back many of the product lines we loved when Taste first opened.”

    What’s Going On With “Taste”?

    Decatur Metro | March 31, 2010 | 3:28 pm

UPDATE: Steve writes “Taste will be reopening soon. Not sure the exact date but I will keep metro posted. Thanks for your concerns.”

Over the past few weeks, I’ve received several questions from residents about whether Taste on Church Street had closed permanently or whether it will soon reopen.

Customers have been turned away by a “Closed” sign for a couple weeks now and there’s a rumor going around that the owner’s Facebook page says he has gone to Australia.   I wrote directly to the owner about a week ago, but haven’t received a reply.  So I guess it’s now up to the community’s collective knowledge to sort things out.

    Can anyone clear things up?

    Taste Now Selling Button Cakes

    Decatur Metro | July 29, 2009 | 12:39 pm

    Steve at Taste writes in…

I was always a fan of Button Cakes Cupcakes and when I heard about Viola closing I had an idea. Now that idea has come true.

Taste in Decatur now has a full cupcake case. Holly, the baker, brings them in fresh every morning. The waste is donated to a homeless shelter. So far we have sold out almost everyday by 3 or 4 pm. We up upping our quotas to meet demand. These cupcakes are fantastic. There are very few baked goods in Atlanta that will call your name in the middle of the night. These will.

One Decaturite helping another. Holly is thrilled to have her case in our store and so are we. Her website lists the flavors available theoretically but anyone can call us for a daily flavor list @ 404 370 1863.

You can also purchase Button Cakes Cupcakes at Cafe Cliche on West Ponce.
