Stan Watson: Where the Hell Are You?

    Decatur Metro | July 30, 2008 | 9:28 am

In case you haven’t heard, Stan Watson has skipped another debate. This time leaving Burrell Ellis to debate himself.

So now he’s missed two debates and was late in filing his campaign contributions report! I don’t care if your campaign slogan is “Give that Decatur Metro guy $30 million dollars!”. Anyone that doesn’t have enough respect for their fellow citizens to show up for a public debate (twice!), has no business being in charge of ANYthing.

Vote Ellis…because we can’t actually prove that Stan Watson isn’t a cyborg.

Illegal Campaigning By Stan Watson Supporters Reported

    Decatur Metro | July 15, 2008 | 11:14 am

Rusty writes in that Stan Watson supporters broke the 150 feet rule at the Sycamore Place polling station when they drove by with a bull horn this morning shouting their support for the ever-absent DeKalb CEO candidate.

Wow…not only technically illegal, but also REALLY effective.  I always take my advice from people screaming at me from passing cars.  “Go to hell!” Done.  “Bikes don’t belong on the road!” You got it sir!  “Vote Stan Watson!”  Good enough for me!

DeKalb Dog/Cat Euthanization – Open Forum Tuesday in Decatur

    Decatur Metro | October 1, 2007 | 2:14 pm

Rep. Stan Watson will hold an open forum Tuesday night from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m at Holy Trinity Church at 515 E. Ponce de Leon Ave, regarding dog and cat euthanization in DeKalb county. According to Watson “More dogs and cats are killed in Atlanta shelters than in the entire country of Great Britain,”. That’s a pretty shocking statement and I would welcome any elaboration on it in the comments section.

Conditions at the DeKalb Animal Shelter have been in the media spotlight since last year when two dogs died in hot trucks that lacked air-conditioning. CEO Jones wants to acquire new vans and is still seeking money from the state legislature to build a entirely new shelter facility.

Let’s hope this issue continues to be covered. Not only does the county need a new facility, but we all need to take more responsibility for our pets. Listen to Bob Barker and don’t be a backyard breeder.
