Some of you have wondered whether Souper Jenny will still open its new Decatur location this Friday after a week of icy-ness.  Well, apparently plans are still on for a Friday open.  Jenny via Twitter…

Souper Jenny Decatur all set to open on Valentine’s Day! Just got 100 on our health inspection!

And if you can get out of your house/condo/apartment/townhouse and up to the Square, there’s a soft opening tomorrow with free soup until they run out.  Again via Twitter…

And free dinner tomorrow night from 5 until the soup runs out! Come!

I guess this is one of those “surprises” that Jenny promised in her recent handwritten note.

And if anyone wants to send in a picture of the inevitably long line, I’ll certainly post it.

I think Jenny already has Decatur figured out.  All you need to do is promise “treats & surprises” – especially in a retro, hand-written letter taped to the window of your new space – and you’ll quickly have everyone hooked!

UPDATE: On Twitter, Jenny confirms the new Souper Jenny will open in the old Pita Pit space

We haven’t heard much from Souper Jenny since March, when they first announced they were coming to Decatur, leading a few folks wonder if it was still going to happen.

But then, just 30 minutes ago, this tweet…

It’s Official! Souper Jenny Decatur. Opening February 3rd! Oy, What Have I Done?

They also posted a “hiring” notice on their website this morning that mentions the new Decatur location.

I’m still trying to figure out the actual address.

Eater Atlanta and Patch have confirmed that Souper Jenny has decided to open their second location in Decatur.

The open question now is: where? According to both sources owner Jenny Levison has yet to decide where she should open up in Decatur. Any suggestions?
