    Help Decatur Non-Profit re:loom Become a Top Contender for Grant

    Are you all about helping Decatur-area organizations get closer to grant money through online clicks?  Then this latest sponsored post on Decaturish – which asks folks to CLICK HERE and vote for re:loom is right up your alley.

    Decatur-based re:loom, which ” provides at-risk women with job training needed to provide independence through sustainable, creative and transformative work” is up for a FedEx Small Business grant of up to $25,000.

    Votes for re:loom on the FedEx website help push the organization to the top of the list of non-profits being considered for grants by the FedEx folks.  As Decaturish mentions, when you click the “vote for this business” all you need to do is verify through your Facebook account and your vote is registered.

    Ladies Rock Camp Registration is Now Open!

    Ladies Rock Camp – an annual benefit that supports Girls Rock Camp over the summer – is back for another year!  Misses sends along the press release…

    Atlanta, GA – Join Atlanta-bred roots rocker Michelle Malone and the legendary Beverly “Guitar” Watkins February 17-19, at Ladies Rock Camp, the annual fundraiser for Girls Rock Camp ATL, the Atlanta-based non-profit organization dedicated to empowering girls and women of all backgrounds and abilities through music education, creative expression, and performance.

    The event is a three-day rock and roll fantasy experience where women learn to play an instrument, form a band, write a song together, and play a big rock concert finale. Beginners are absolutely encouraged to attend. Michelle Malone will be leading the songwriting workshop and will also be a floating band coach, giving participants tips, tricks, and pointers along the way. Beverly “Guitar” Watkins will play a private lunchtime set, making for a once-in-a-lifetime musical experience.

    You may not know this but tax dollars/school funds are not used to buy uniforms, equipment (including nets, mats, balls, batting cages, etc.) or athlete recognition banquets and awards.
