    Decatur Library Book Sale This Saturday

    From the DeKalb Library website…

    Date: Saturday, May 28 2011, 9:00AM—3:00PM

    The Friends of the Decatur Library will be hosting their annual Spring Book Sale on the front lawn of the library on Sycamore Street. All proceeds benefits the Decatur Library. If it rains that day, the sale will be inside the library.

    Funding provided by The Friends of the Decatur Library.

    Friends of DeKalb Library Book Sale May 28th; Books Needed

    Friends of the Decatur Library host their May book sale on Saturday, May 28 from 9:00am to 3:00pm on the front lawn of the library, weather permitting. Thousands of gently used books looking for a new home at low prices. Dealers must scan at tables. Donations of sellable books are welcome until May 21 at the library. Proceeds support programs and new materials at the Decatur Library.

    DeKalb Public Library Announces Furlough Days

    Decatur Metro | October 12, 2010

    From a DeKalb County Public Library press release…

    DEKALB COUNTY – All DeKalb County Public Library branches will close for furlough days on Monday, November 8 and Monday, December 6, 2010 due to county budget shortfalls. However, online services will remain available through our eBranch at dekalblibrary.org, including the Catalog.

    The Library will attempt to re-schedule programs planned for those days. Please check with staff at your local branch.

    New DeKalb Library Audiobook Downloads a Mixed Bag

    As I mentioned in a comment yesterday, I’ve been sitting on this post for a while.

    A few weeks back, I, along with many other DeKalb Library fans, received an email announcing the library’s new online audiobooks software “OverDrive.”

    Heading over to the site in a “this will make a great post!” fever, I was immediately excited by the format of the new site.  The audiobooks were now much easier to discover thanks to a more intuitive set-up and prominent book covers.

    However, downloading and listening to an audiobook proved a bit more difficult.

    DeKalb Library Used Book Sale – February 27th

    Susan at the Decatur branch of the DeKalb County Library sends in this event announcement…

    Friends of the Decatur Library Used Book Sale, Saturday, Feb. 27, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Ground floor of the Decatur library.

    A wide assortment of books on many topics, priced from $.50 to $4.

    All proceeds benefit programming and events for adults and children at the Decatur library.
