Wiggle Closing Store and Moving Online

    Decatur Metro | November 20, 2010 | 9:21 am

A note from Wiggle owner, Kolby…

    Dear Wiggle Friends,

It’s with mixed emotions that I’m letting you know that

we’re closing our store and moving Wiggle online. That’s right – as of January 1st we will be open at www.wiggleatlanta.com!

As most of you know, we recently had another child and I can’t give the retail store enough of my time to make it work up to my standards. Hopefully, by taking the store online I can have some freedom from being at the store every day and still provide you with great clothing, gifts and monogramming!

To all my frequent monogrammers!! I would still love to monogram your items and will still have plenty of great personalized baby gifts for you to purchase. I’ll be happy to pick up and drop off items for 30030 Decatur residents now, so you no longer have to worry about making by the store before we close in the afternoons!

Wiggleatlanta.com will be up by the new year and there are plenty of ways to keep in touch in the meantime!

Call me at 678-632-3286 or email me at [email protected]

Thanks again for all your support the past 4 years!

    Kolby

Open & Closed: Signature Revolutions Closes After Roughly 45 Days

    Decatur Metro | January 31, 2010 | 12:50 pm

The clothing store, Signature Revolutions, which opened in the old Eviva space at 335 West Ponce de Leon Ave has closed it’s doors for good after just a month and a half in business.

Jennifer, who works next door, reported the news to DM via Twitter yesterday.

I’m not sure of the reason for such a quick close, but the strangeness of it reminded me of an odd experience a reader reported a couple weeks ago…

I walked in [to Signature Revolutions] the other day, and it was a really odd experience. While the storefront is stark and the decor reflects remnants of the holiday season, the owners were sitting back relaxing and playing cards. And if the sparse selection and quality of their stock wasn’t enough of a red flag, the conversation I had with them left me speechless.

How could a business come and go in just 45 days?

    Kaleidoscope Boutique Closing

    Decatur Metro | January 19, 2010 | 7:16 pm

Another well-known Decatur merchant is closing it’s doors.

Assistant Store Manger Kim McNeil at Kaleidoscope Boutique confirms reports that the 9 year-old clothing store along West Ponce will soon be closing its doors forever.

Kim notes that the closing is “indeed recession-related”.  As for store owner Camille Wright, Kim says plans include doing “some personal shopping for her close friends and valued customers, will happily get to focus more on new baby Connor, and anticipates some other fashion related ventures in the future.”

Our best to Camille and her staff in all their future endeavors.  This one is gonna be especially tough for many to swallow.

Below the break, read a message recently posted on the store’s Facebook page with details about the clothing sale and where you can catch up with the Kaleidoscope ladies prior to closing.

    DeKalb Musician’s Supply Moving Sale

    Decatur Metro | July 27, 2009 | 9:05 am

Jonathan writes in to let us know that DeKalb Musician’s Supply at 113 Clairemont is having an “impressive moving sale starting today (Monday, 7/27) and running throughout the week. Everything in the store is 40% off.”

Not to sound completely dense, but are they really moving?  They’re one of the “old guard” of Decatur businesses along the Clairemont strip.  The city truly won’t be the same without their store, crammed to the doorstop with musical instruments and parts.

    Good sale though.

UPDATE: According to their website, the same 40% sale also applies at neighboring Emile Baran.  Are they moving too?

    Eviva Closing (Sale)

    Decatur Metro | June 24, 2009 | 10:16 pm

The AsianCajuns report that Eviva, the trendy little shoe store in the 335 building, is closing this weekend and the closeout sale begins tomorrow.

If my wife, Catherine and Lauren, and cubalibre (who emailed me minutes after my wife told me it was posted on AC) are any indication, a fair number of people are going to be upset about this one.

    Gado Gado Packs It In

    Decatur Metro | March 30, 2008 | 10:47 pm

I must admit that I’ve been anticipating this store closing for months.

Due to the fact that 1.  we live in Ponce Heights and 2. we have a dog that needs to be walked multiple times a day, we are very frequently passing by Gado Gado, which sits along the western edge of Ponce next to Whit’s End and Intaglia.  And honestly I can’t even tell you the last time I saw someone come in or out of that store.

All that said, I wasn’t all that surprised when I saw a “moving sale” sign in their window this unseasonably cold afternoon.  According to all-knowing window signs, the store is “consolidating” and moving everything over to their flagship Amsterdam Walk location.  But this hasn’t stopped them from putting things on sale, so if you’re a fan of their Indonesian style furnishings you can get 20%-50% off deals from now ’til April 13th.
