Compliments to the city crew on a well run operation. Amazingly quick service. Such relief to dispose of so much.

Why wasn’t this better advertised. I got nothing from the city. Oh, I got my tax bill, but nothing about this sevice. And I have a lot of old stuff I’ve collected over the past few months. Now I’ll have to wait another 6 months or so for the next one.

Based on the number of cars both in front and behind me in line, I think it was sufficiently advertised. Just my opinion, but I don’t want the city spending money on additional advertising when the citizens should have some obligation to seek out info on city services they wish to use.

How long have you been in these parts? These events have been happening regularly twice a year in March/April and October for some time. They’re obviously successful, collecting two large trucks of shredding and several tons of electronics every time. BTW, DeKalb County has a perpetual electronics recycling program over on Camp Road.

No need to wait 6 months. DeKalb County has permanent electronic recycling drop-off sites. According to the AJC:

Keep DeKalb Beautiful, a unit of the DeKalb County Sanitation Division, has relocated of one of its electronics recycling drop-off sites. The new location is next to the DeKalb County Tax Commissioner’s Office located at 4380 Memorial Drive, Decatur. Open M-F 8-4. For more info: 404-371-2654.

Thanks for the location update. That’s better than the old place.

One topic of discussion with Eric Tumperi over the weekend was communication from Decatur & the City Commission. Better (or any!) communication is an issue with him, and he says it’s very doable.
