Emory Village To Host It’s Own “Streets Alive” Style Event at End of This Month
Decatur Metro | September 10, 2013Have y’all seen this? From the Clairmont Heights Civic Association website…
From Emory’s Clifton Community Partnership Fall 2013 newsletter: “DeKalb County and the Alliance to Improve Emory Village (AIEV) are kicking off the first ‘Open Streets DeKalb at Emory Village’ on Sunday, September 29 (3:00-6:00 PM). Similar to the very popular ‘Streets Alive’ events in Atlanta, the Village event will take place in North Decatur Road between the Lullwater Road roundabout and the Village roundabout (both roundabouts will remain open to traffic, but North Decatur Road will be closed to vehicles, and South Oxford Road will be closed between the roundabout and Clifton Road). Drop by the Village to sample special offers and participate in street activities during ‘Open Streets’.

Sounds like fun. Host It’s Own –> Host Its Own!
Amongst my parents, my sisters and myself, everyone of us has at least one Emory degree. We grew up in Druid Hills within walking distance. I am amoung the last to perceive a conspiracy….but come on. Is this not just one more example of Emory trying take over the surrounding area under the auspices of something temporary?
A block party is always fun but comparing it to Atlanta Streets Alive is a bit of a stretch.
