Wild Heaven Announces Fourth Brew: “Let There Be Light”
Decatur Metro | February 1, 2012 | 9:57 amFrom Wild Heaven Craft Beers website…
Who says lighter beers have to be boring? Wild Heaven Craft Beers has taken on that challenge with their brand new brew Let There Be Light. As the brewery’s first “sessionable” beer, Let There Be Light comes in at only 4.7% ABV yet is full of flavor. Starting with both barley and wheat, brewmaster Eric Johnson added two rare hops—Nelson Sauvin and Sorachi Ace—along with a bit of orange peel, to create a complex beer with a citrus note that will change the way you think about “light” beer.
Let There Be Light will debut as the featured February “Beer of The Month” at several Georgia Taco Mac locations: Atlanta Metropolis (Peachtree Street), Virginia-Highland, Suwanee, Alpharetta, Cumming, Perimeter, Buford, Kennesaw, Newnan, Roswell (Crabapple) and Marietta (Dallas Highway).
I just don’t know about Decatur and its priorities some times.
Are confusing my priorities with Decatur’s again?
Your priorities are fine. It’s your liver I worry about.
‘Sessionable beers’ are easier on the liver. DM’s doing mine a favor.
I assume you’re referring to how Taco Mac is showcasing the new brew and yet the Decatur location is not participating. WTH?!
I actually had no idea there were that many Taco Mac locations –
Taco Mac is trying to give beer of the month features to some of the smaller breweries but unfortunately most of the small breweries can’t afford to supply the glassware for all of the Taco Mac locations. They typically split the locations so that the smaller brewery only has to supply half of the glassware required. They also try to make sure that when they split the month that patrons can pick between two closely located Taco Macs in case they have a preference- that’s why Decatur and Virginia Highlands are not offering the same beer.
But, I completely agree that Wild Heaven/Taco Mac missed the boat in not offering it at the Decatur Location. However, when they planned this early last year they may have expected the Decatur location to be closed for renovation- which has now been delayed.
Wild Heaven is a local brewery. Technically this is “Avondale Estates” news but really, it’s of interest to any Decaturite. Also, the first response reminds me of this:
You know, Coach, I gotta get goin’. Me and my “loser” friends, you know, we gotta get Aerosmith tickets. Top priority of the summer. Oh, and Coach, I forgot. I might play ball. But I will never sign that!
But that just makes me think of:
That’s what I love about these high school girls, man. I get older, they stay the same age.
There’s a another fiesta in the making as . . . we. . . speak.
Great! Especially during summer I like a lighter beer – and often I am wanting a “session” beer cause sometimes I just want one after the other!
What does “session beer” mean?
A beer having a lower alcohol content and usually lighter in taste allowing the person(s) to drink several in a row during the day/evening/social event, without becoming overly intoxicated.
Or in some cases (mine being one), allowing the person to drink even one whole beer without winding up under the table by the time the appetizers arrive.
Aha! Thank you Phototrekker and smalltowngal. You mean it’s the one brew to have when you’re having more than one?
+1
I drank Schaefer, I knew Schaefer, Schaefer was a friend of mine. Wild heaven, you’re no Schaefer!
That’s awesome!
I remember that ad campaign –
Mmmm…sounds yummy! Would probably be good with lighter grilled foods (e.g. seafood, veggies), too. Had their Eschaton the other night, and although it’s a very dark beer, it didn’t taste all chewy & stout-y; rather, it was smooth, fruity, & almost had a whiff of a chocolate undertone. I think the Wild Heaven folks are really starting to master their craft– good on ’em!
I like their beers, but when are we gonna see an IPA?
Maybe they share my disdain of IPAs.
This is great news! I was just thinking how heavy all the beers seem to be these days. Wish I could have a growler or two of this for Sunday.
