Jimmy John’s Build-Out Constrution Finally Begins

    Decatur Metro | February 10, 2011

    A reader writes in…

Some scoop on the “Jimmy Johns” space next to Alexia Gallery on W. Ponce de Leon. There’s a large dumpster outside and they are doing what looks to be electrical work inside. Door is wide open. The workers said it was indeed a Jimmy Johns and it should be open within 2 months.

In case you don’t know what a Jimmy John’s is, here’s the link!

Been to a few, not bad. I’d have to say my fav of the chains is firehouse. I’ll still check this one out though!
I’m just excited things are opening here!

      OK, I can’t resist.

Ten bucks says they’re open before the Decatur Diner! (I know what you’re thinking: Et tu, CubaLibre?)

        I believe Brutus was Roman.

Hey, look– I got Sicilian ancestors on my mother’s side, so I’m at least in the ballpark!

Does anyone know if anyone’s doing anything with the gas station that recently closed on Ponce across from the Wells Fargo (former Wachovia)?

I was hoping someone would re open it! Alas, i know the permitting process/taxes/etc for an independent gas station turns most would be owners away

I’ve heard good things about Jimmy John’s but never had one of their subs. I sure wish Jersey Mike’s would find their way into Downtown Decatur.

Jersey Mikes and Lennys are right up there with Firehouse for me!

The differentiator for Jimmy Johns versus the others is the super fast delivery. I can’t wait to have a country club and jalapeno chips arrive at my front door!

In college, I used to get a sandwich delivered to me at my job. There was more than one occasion where the delivery guy found me and got me my sandwich before I could even stand up from my desk! All for $5!

The veggie on the multi-grain bread is addictive!
