‘Tis the Season To Give Input!
Decatur Metro | December 9, 2009Fa la la la la, la la la la! (Yes, the long-rumored missing seventh verse of Deck The Halls now applies to the efforts of Decatur city government.)
After a few months hiatus, Decatur’s Open City Hall is once again a happening place.
On the heels of asking questions about the city’s pending Cultural Arts Master Plan, the city has posted a question about railroad crossing improvements.
How would you redesign the existing railroad crossings at Candler and McDonough Streets to improve the safety and health of Decatur residents and visitors?
Already this question is bringing in the comments, with 18 responses and counting. Jump over and let your voice be heard!
We are just about to post a December 21 deadline for comments on the railroad crossing question so please be sure and comment ASAP. Thanks!
I think the only reason this is a hotter topic is because there’s been so many non-virtual opportunities for the community to weigh in on the arts master plan. Let’s not leave the impression that this city cares more about railroad crossings than its future as the arts mecca of Georgia.
Actually, there are now only 2 more railroad crossing comments than arts master plan options. So it really isn’t all that “hotter”.
Maybe if the questions were phrased around “how do we make Decatur an arts mecca?” people would be more inspired. “Help us plan!” isn’t really much of a William Wallace-type rallying cry.
