Upon Reinspection, Taqueria del Sol Gets 93A

    Decatur Metro | May 28, 2009 | 11:07 am

Since I gave the last score such prominance, it’s only fair to give the reinspection the same.

Steve from Taqueria writes in with word that upon reinspection Taqueria got a 93A by the health department.

    Very glad to hear it!

      This is great news.

My homemade Mexican street tacos just aren’t very street.

Thank goodness! Now those two or so germaphobes that were going freaky-deaky can safely eat at TDS again.

I happy to hear . . . I love TDS! I wonder why the flood of reponses haven’t appeared with the new posting, like the previous one :-)

I hate to say this, but even if TDS’s score hadn’t improved this much, I still probably would’ve kept going. As long as they’re above 80 (and no one dies from eating there), I’m sticking with ’em. All the same, though, kudos to them for getting it back up there. Now, who’s for some chips & queso, washed down with margaritas on the rocks?

      This Cuban loves the Tex-Mex!

Now if they’ll just bring on the lettuce wraps Robert keeps promising…but no…”no lettuce for you”! We love the place. Just try to keep us out.

Now that they’ve cleaned up their act, Winona Park Stud will deign to return to TdS – besides, the drive to Ming’s BBQ had become tiresome, and Winona Park Stud can only eat so much yeung chow fried rice with honey pork before he needs a taco:

That’s great news about the new score… but at TdS, it ain’t gonna be the germs that kill ya… it’s the wait in the long line.

Now I just need AMARYN’S THAI BOWL & SUSHI to step up so I can go back to eating there…

Sounds like, as the owners said, the infractions were pretty minor and easily remedied. As for the discussion that surrounded the previous posting…at the very least some who hadn’t had great experiences got to sound their opinions and the owners probably saw them. What they do with that feedback is up to them.

I actually got food poisoning there a couple months ago and haven’t been back. (albeit that is only one time out of a hundred or so — but still I can’t bring myself to brave it again)
I didn’t know about less than stellar inspections though.

Someone shoot this thread and put it out of its’ misery.

      DM, are you listening?

Yes, please DM, and the other one about the Renfroe/DHS lockdown.

        “I’m a conservative.” Indeed.

Thanks for reminding me. I never set up the “close comments after __ days” when I switched over to the new server. It’s set up for 14 days.

That means this thread will close on the 15th. The lockdown one is now closed.

As for closing it now…I gotta stick with my rules, which is I don’t close threads early unless there’s an issue.

Maybe because the whine would sound like this: oh, well, I’m glad it’s clean, but they’re still jerks and Taco Mac will let my kids run around…blah, blah, blah

Why does Winona Park Stud refuse to use pronouns when referring to Winona Park Stud? Just askin’.

Speaking about yourself in the third person obviously makes you more of a stud.

DM, I think Stud should always be capitalized.
