Eater is reporting a bunch o’ new details about Kevin Gillespie’s new Decatur spot, “Revival”. Here are some quick highlights:
- Opening has been pushed back from June to July
- Gillespie’s sous chef at Gunshow, Andreas Müller, is the executive chef
- The patio space will eventually be home to an outdoor bar called “Communion”, which “will be Gillespie’s take on a Viennese wine garden”
- The rehabbed space will feature “trey ceilings, crown molding, fireplaces, mixed-metal and wood accents, and an antique blue-and-white color palette”
That’s just a start. Click over to Eater for more. They’ve even got some details on the menu!

I’m sorry but this sounds just like a fancy Po Folks.
You say that like it’s a bad thing. 😛
Four to six sides with each entrée? That seems a bit silly.
That seems a bit awesome.
I was assuming that was 4 to six from which to pick. Wasn’t it described as a meat ‘n 3?
Must be 1 entree and pass the bowl sides.
Great. Parking at Twains will be even worse.
I’m sure Twain’s will find a neighborly way of reminding Revival customers not to park in their lot.
Twain’s dedicated parking only consists of about 12 spaces, which will be full before the dinner rush. There are more spaces specifically designated non-Twain’s than what they actually have.
Don’t worry, the Triangle Taj Ma Traffic will surly be open for parking by then.
Hope the country fried steak is as good as it sounds! I still have a hole in my belly from the loss of Big Tex Country Fried steak…
Yes, but will they keep the bocce courts?
I seem to remember that the bocce courts are going to be replaced by a garden.
I have no idea what a Viennese wine garden is but I’m ready to buy stock. Sounds great.
have no doubt the vittles will be deluxe and delish, but the descriptive language is so, well, . . . um,
jeebus, people.
branding folks really are the road to ruin—wanna put eyeliner and lipstick on **everything**
Exactly. They lost me at “a la carte”. It’s supposed to be Southern ‘Murican but they’re making it sound like Southern French!
yup, that’s where “smothered in sausage gravy” meets “accompanied by a creamy sauce ala Jimmy Dean”
