Got Camp? – Register for Decatur Summer Camp Classes
Decatur Metro | March 24, 2009Heather from CSD notes that registration for the city’s summer camp programs begins this Saturday, March 28th.
For detailed info on the wide variety of camps available, check out the city’s “Playbook”.
Here’s how to register…
Registration for all summer day camps (Glenlake, Ebster, McKoy, and Dream Camp), tennis camps, special interest camps, swim camps and swim team will begin Saturday, March 28, 9 a.m.-noon, at Decatur Recreation Center. Proof of residency will be required for resident fees and is subject to verification. Nonverifiable addresses will not be accepted. Five year olds must have attended a full-day program and show proof of age (birth certificate or school record).
There’s also this correction…
**Please note that there was a typo in the Playbook regarding the age groups of Totally Awesome Technology. The camp is for students ages 5-10 NOT 5-8. The instructors are Michele Stiger, Nayadin Persaud, Laconia Massaquoi and Heather Borowski. Please help us spread the word that students 5-10 years old are welcome. Thanks!
Wow, that correction is so helpful! That’s the camp my 10-year old wanted to do! Thanks Metro
Me too! Thanks!
THERE IS NO GLENLAKE DISCOVERY CAMP THIS YEAR!! Just a friendly amendment to Heather’s nice post. Due to construction Glenlake will not operate camp this summer. Extra spaces have been added at fabulous Mckoy Safari Camp to accommodate those kids. Online registration should be ready to roll Saturday; however, be aware that you have to pay all fees up front.
There were a good number of changes and revisions to the Playbook that should now be available at the Rec Center. Be sure to check these out before you make out your final City of Decatur summer camp plan to ensure accuracy.
Claire, are these changes posted on the website?
Unfortunately that .pdf is not yet available on the web. Working on that and will post when it is available.
The summer camp updates flyer is posted for all school age camps. Unfortunately the file size is quite large and takes a while to load. Your choice whether to head to Decatur Rec Center to pick one up or spend some quality time waiting for the document to load but saving the trip to the Rec.
Registration forms are already available at the Rec for those who want to complete them in advance.
New families should also complete Household Information and Medical forms in advance to expedite the registration process for Saturday.
Existing households wanting to register online will need to contact Decatur Rec to get your Household Number if you do not already have it.
Just a clarification… “Heather” is from City Schools– not the City. Happy Camping this summer!
Sorry Heather! Made the change…
