    More March Restaurant Deals

    Decatur Metro | March 11, 2009

KC alerts us to a new 80% off discount code on restaurant.com:  “MENU”.

He goes on to say, “The $25 gift certificates are normally $10, but are $2 with the code.  They also sell $10 certificates for select restaurants for $3, making them 60 cents each with the code.  (They have these promotions often.)   They have Parker’s on Ponce and Ted’s Montana available (among others!).  I just bought a $25 certificate for Ted’s for $3.”

Also, Carl recently reminded me of a March Ted’s promotion, where if you upload an original ode to Ted’s, be it an essay, poem, or drawing, you will receive a certificate for a free Ted’s burger and a chance at winning a Prius.

I shall now demonstrate how easy it can be….ehem…

Ted, your burgers are so juicy,

    I always make a mess,

But when my wife tells me to wash my hands,

I wipe them on her dress.

Hmm…I might need to rethink this a bit.

I’m not too sure about the restaurant.com deals. The minimum purchase amounts seem awfully high.

But I’m in for Ted’s! Here’s my submission:

      Haiku for Ted

      Bison burger best
Juicy meat yet low in fat
      Green and hot – favorite!

I’d call ahead to make sure the restaurant accepts the coupon or something like this could happen:

We use restaurant.com all the time. In fact we used on at Natalies last night and have used the Parkers one 2 times. If its too much food, just add something to go. You dont have to eat it all there and then you have dinner for the next night too.

Can someone explain exactly how these coupons work? Is the minimum BEFORE the coupon?

At Parker’s, for example, you have to spend $35 on FOOD to use your $25 coupon. We spent $40 on food, subtract the coupon and your bill is $15 plus your alcohol. They figure gratuity at 20% on the total spent as well. Still a very good deal when you can get the coupons for $2 with the codes.

Great tip, DM! Technically the discount goes to the food portion of the bill, but in my mind it will go to a wine upgrade.

I prefer the deals at halfoffdepot.com … less complicated :)
      Right now you can get:
$25 plastic gift cards for $12.50 to Little Azio (these are good for multiple visits with no exclusions)
      $20 gift certificates to Maddy’s for $10
$25 gift certificates to Nathalie’s Fish House for $10 (exp 8/31/09)
$25 gift certificates to Mexico City Gourmet for $10 (no alcohol on this one)

Speaking of restaurants, I’ve heard Sage and the Depeaux are on their way out.

Rumors have been floating for months about those places Manny and they’re still around. Let’s be careful about writing premature obits unless you have some new, detailed, reliable info.
