CSD and DEF Holding Backpack & School Supplies Drive
Decatur Metro | July 20, 2017 | 10:32 amFrom the Decatur Education Foundation Facebook page…
Did you know that last school year, 80 CSD students were identified as homeless? In addition, there are approximately 700 students in our district who receive free and reduced meals. Many of these students, who range in ages from 4-18, will not be able to afford the required school supplies and backpacks they need.
To address this challenge and ensure that all of our students have what they need to succeed, DEF has partnered with City Schools of Decatur and our local PTA/PTOs to hold a backpack drive. Thanks for your help. Together, we make a difference for #OurKids
Sounds like a worthy cause. Question: Once you’ve “signed up” at SignupGenius, what do you do?
Hi Steve.
You would just purchase the materials you signed up for and drop them to one of the two locations listed -DEF Office or CSD Central Office-by July 28.
Hello Steve,
Once you have signed up to provide item(s) at SignupGenius, please drop of your donations at the following locations Mon. – Fri. between 9:00am – 4:00pm by Friday, July 28th, 2017:
City Schools of Decatur Central Office, 125 Electric Ave., Decatur
OR
Decatur Education Foundation,
200 Nelson Ferry Rd., Suite B, Decatur
Your interest in supporting our CSD students in need is truly appreciated!
What if we want to drop off tons of old pens, pencils, rulers, msrkers, hifglighters, opened packs of 3×5 cards, etc. that are not brand new? Can we just bring them by? Or do we have to sign up? And are used school supplies ok?
