    Decatur Metro | November 15, 2012 | 3:29 pm

Oakhurst Realty gives us the heads up about the new addition to Homer Simpson Plaza via Twitter…

Lebanese restaurant Lawrence’s Cafe to relocate to 910 West College Ave. Opening in early 2013. http://www.lawrencescafe.com

Lawrence’s website describes their offerings thusly…

Lawrence’s enticing menu includes soups, salads, kabobs, gyro, chicken, beef and seafood dishes; and a large selection of vegetarian meals. Specialities include Lawrence’s Platter, a combination of six different dishes, and Seafood Tahini, large shrimp and sea scallops sauteed in tahini sauce. And of course hummous, baba, grape leaves, kibbie and much, much more. The lunch menu offers numerous entrees (large portions) and sandwiches. Desserts include 2 different kinds of Baklava and mouth watering date mamoul (naturally sweetened with dates), with Lebanese coffee.

Check out their menu and more on their website!

UPDATED: Oakhurst Realty Buys Much of Downtown Avondale Estates

    Decatur Metro | July 23, 2012 | 6:40 pm

UPDATE:  Here’s a response about the purchase from Oakhurst Realty’s Fisher Paty…

We are thrilled about the acquisition of this building. Our goal is to be good stewards of this historic building and to help downtown Avondale Estates become a thriving commercial area. We believe the downtown area has tremendous upside and hope to help start the momentum.

    From Bisnow Atlanta…

Late last week, we chatted with David Andes who informed us his firm has sold what amounts to Downtown Avondale Estates, the 26k SF retail/office tudor style building that is the landmark to the area on the main intersection. Atlanta-based Oakhurst Realty Partners purchased the building (listed on the National Register of Historic Places) for $1.08M, according to Databank.

Bisnow says that it took two years to consummate the sale and that we should stay tuned to hear what Oakhurst Realty has “in store” for the Tudor style retail strip.

New “Authentic Napoletana Pizzeria” Opening at 314 Church Street

    Decatur Metro | April 14, 2011 | 9:28 am

Late yesterday, Oakhurst Realty alerted us to this newest Decatur business via Twitter….

Sapori di Napoli to open at 314 Church. Authentic pizzeria operated by two Italian brothers that are 3rd generation restaurateurs.  Sapori di Napoli: Wood-burning oven has arrived from Italy and currently resides at Port of Savannah. On truck to Decatur soon…

I believe this is the old Remax location.  Great to have new retail extending down Church towards Trinity!

Oakhurst Realty Calls Old ReMax Location “Best Available Restaurant Space” in Decatur

    Decatur Metro | February 27, 2011 | 8:35 pm

My wife and I noticed about a month ago that it looked like ReMax was vacating its location in the old Bowen Press building on Church Street.  And I actually took a pic of the empty space last week, meaning to post it and reiterate its awesomeness and ask everyone what they thought it should become.

Well, Oakhurst Realty – who has been tasked with leasing the space – believes it’s the “best available restaurant space in downtown Decatur”.  Here’s their description of the property on their website…

The Bowen Loft is a one-of-a-kind loft building located in the heart of downtown Decatur. It is a perfect location for a high-end restaurant or for other retail or create office users. It has an exposed wood barrel roof with ceiling heights of 22 feet in the center and includes exposed brick walls. The building also shares 57 parking spaces that it can use at no cost.

That piece of Church Street could really use a bit more life.  A popular restaurant or retail spot could be just the thing.  And the amazing interior space, combined with a good amount of parking has the potential to attract a very interesting tenant!

A Few More Details on CCP Games Move To Decatur

    Decatur Metro | February 25, 2011 | 9:02 am

Here’s a bit more information on CCP Games’ pending move to Decatur from a press release I just received from Oakhurst Realty’s Fisher Paty, who along with Bart Lester, helped facilitate the deal.

CCP Games will be occupying three full contiguous floors in the building and the space is currently undergoing an extensive renovation. Accommodating CCP Games required the relocation and cooperation of seven existing tenants in the building, including Pattillo Construction Company, who constructed the building in 1962, and McCurdy & Candler, an original tenant to the building. As part of the agreement, the landlord will make improvements to the lobby of the building as well as the outside courtyard area.

Agilest Collections Moving To 127 East Trinity Place

    Decatur Metro | September 1, 2010 | 5:13 pm

The modern furniture company Agliest Collections is moving back to Decatur from Norcross into one of the ground floor retail spaces in the recently spruced up 127 East Trinity Place office building, according to Oakhurst Realty.  Via Twitter, they alert us DM folks…

Agilest Collections , a modern furniture and accessories retailer, to open at 127 E. Trinity Place http://bit.ly/abufcl

In a follow-up note, they project a late September opening.  Great to finally see some street-front retail in this building!

For those who don’t have every Trinity building address memorized, I point you again to my crappy – yet high-def! – video of the building after the jump.

Pita Pit Opening in Old Quizno’s Space

    Decatur Metro | August 25, 2010 | 3:26 pm

This is turning into the year of the sandwich for Decatur.

Demanda pointed out this Atlanta Business Chronicle article last week in Free-For-All Friday noting that Pita Pit was coming to Decatur, but we didn’t have a location.

Oakhurst Realty comes to the rescue again.  They just sent me this tweet…

The Pita Pit to open in former Quiznos space – will be first location in metro Atlanta

Currently, Pita Pit only has Georgia stores in Valdosta, Savannah and Athens.  It looks to be a nationwide chain.

Hold your horses.  Here’s the link to their menu.

So I guess the old Quizno’s Plaza is now “Pit Plaza”?
