My Parents’ Basement opens in the old James Joyce space tomorrow.

If you’re curious what a comic book store/pub mashup looks like, you may want to check out Urban Daddy’s just-posted photo tour and its list of facts about this new Avondale hangout created by “Brick Store and Leon’s vets” with ” a new bar with a huge beer list and an also-huge patio”.

But ultimately I know you all want to see the menus.  So here you go.  Here’s the food menu.  And here’s a sample draft list.  Lots of local brews.

So that’s it!  Well, except for one thing I just came across…..(whistling)….(looks around)….

My Parents’ Basement Opening Comic Book/Craft Beer Store in James Joyce Space

Though there was talk that My Parents Basement might open a brick-and-mortar location in Decatur, they seem to have ultimately decided on Avondale.

We’re official!! We found our home in Avondale!!

Decaturish reports they plan to open in July or August.

Comic Book Yard Sale This Weekend

From the guys of “My Parent’s Basement”.  Decaturish talked with them too!

In the ever evolving epic journey to open a brick and mortar location the My Parents’ Basement team is hosting another all comic book yard sale this Saturday June 7th from 7am-5pm at 1064 Forrest Boulevard, Decatur, Ga 30030! The first event was a smashing success and everyone can expect more of the same intrigue, mischief and Comics By The Pound!

As always, MPB provides a vast array of comic books. This yard sale marks the fourth “Pop-Up” event the company has held. This event, more so than the previous events will have more collected series, story arcs, new comics, more rare comics and of course more Comics By The Pound, where we sell mass quantities of books for $1 per pound. It’s great for younger children, teachers, crafters and philanthropists. Plus!! Discounts for anyone in costume!!! Super extra cool raffle prizes!! Snacks and drinks!
