Discover Dreamy Brazil with Leo Blomov: Immerse Yourself in Adventure and Beauty!

Embarquez vers un Brésil de rêve avec Leo Blomov

The French artist sweeps us into lush tropical adventures with “Blomovinho,” a vibrant journey to a land as delightful as it is imagined. A total escape is promised!

The stage name of the artist had already hinted at something intriguing. Referencing Oblomov, the masterful novel by Gontcharov published in 1859, which portrays a dandy who indulges in laziness and nostalgia from the comfort of his oriental room, already set the stage for a dreamlike exploration. Here, like the talented Harry Nilsson and Robert Wyatt, life is navigated in a bathrobe. After crafting two albums in French, Carpe Noctem (2021) and L’Ermitage (2023), the musician opts for an imaginary exile with twelve tracks sung entirely in Portuguese.

For this escapade, he has surrounded himself with good friends (Bertrand Burgalat, Nina Savary, Laure Briard, Julien Gasc…). Rich and vivid, these twelve tracks evoke the pioneers of bossa nova like João Gilberto, and the Holy Trinity from the eternal country of the future: Milton Nascimento, Chico Buarque, and João Donato (with his uniquely smooth voice).

Serenity and Melancholy Walk Hand in Hand

Leo Blomov showcases his command over harmonies, achieving the perfect blend of his unwavering love for Brazilian music (its poetry, language, rhythms) and his appreciation for delicate, sophisticated Anglo-Saxon pop. Serenity and melancholy walk hand in hand throughout this stationary journey.

Leaving Blomovinho feels joyful, akin to stepping out of one of those yellow taxis that zip through the streets of Rio de Janeiro to the sound of a vibrant “vai com Deus” (“go with God”). We will, undoubtedly, return.

Blomovinho (Tricatel). Released on May 23.
