Dallas, Salt Lake City, and Normandy: How Le Duff Group Plans to Double in Four Years

Dallas, Salt Lake City, la Normandie… comment le groupe Le Duff (Brioche dorée) va doubler en 4 ans

Driven by its industrial division specializing in breads and pastries, the Brittany-based group is experiencing robust growth. In the United States, it plans to open two production facilities, one in Dallas and another in Salt Lake City, while a significant investment of one hundred million euros is slated for the Frial plant in Falaise, Normandy.

It’s rare for companies to double in size every four years. Yet, that’s exactly what Louis Le Duff, the CEO and founder of the eponymous group, announced this Wednesday, April 23. The group, which owns the frozen bakery product manufacturer Bridor and the Brioche dorée restaurant chain, aims for a turnover of 3.5 billion euros this year, which is a billion more than two years ago. By 2030, it aims to reach 7 billion euros.

At 78, Louis Le Duff shows no signs of slowing down. “The quality of our products, our passion for the craft, and the development of our employees are the keys to our long-term success,” says the passionate entrepreneur, who now employs nearly 20,000 people worldwide.

Global Presence in Over 100 Countries

Recently, Louis Le Duff has expanded his holdings to include Panidor in Portugal, Pandriks in Germany and the Netherlands, and Lecoq in the United States. The Breton industrialist plans to further accelerate in the United States. This year, his Philadelphia factory will double in size. Next year, a new production site will open in Salt Lake City, and another in Dallas in 2027, to serve Latin America. Currently, the production of frozen bakery products accounts for 85% of the group’s activity. It is particularly the dynamism of this division that should allow Le Duff to double in size every four years.

A 100 Million Euro Investment in Normandy

In France, significant investments are also planned in Falaise (Calvados), at the Frial plant, a frozen vegetable brand acquired in 2022. This facility will be converted to industrial pastry production as part of a development project for Bridor, involving an investment of 100 million euros and the hiring of 150 employees. The two other Frial sites in Bayeux will continue to focus on frozen meals and other culinary solutions.

To present this ambitious growth plan, this Wednesday, Louis Le Duff was accompanied by Hervé Morin, the centrist president of the Normandy region. This move was a snub to the ecologist officials of the Rennes metropolis, who, in 2023, had discouraged him from setting up a new factory in Liffré after eight years of processing the file.
