The ship’s owner, now aware of the value these machines held, began demanding a hefty price. Negotiations dragged on for months, but Moazzezi’s team was determined.

As if the situation weren’t complicated enough, the ship had started to deteriorate further. After a thief stole copper frames from the portholes, rainwater flooded the ship, threatening the machines’ survival. The owner gave them only 10 days to remove the arcade machines—a deadline that seemed impossible to meet.

Despite the obstacles, Moazzezi and his team didn’t back down. With the help of trucks and even a crane, they managed to extract the machines from the wreckage. But not all of the machines were in working order. Many had been damaged by the elements over the years. The Duke of Lancaster still sits on the beach today, its fate uncertain. While plans to turn it into an art gallery are underway, the real treasure lies in the rescued machines. For retro gaming fans, these arcade machines aren’t just relics—they are tangible pieces of history.
