Decatur Police sent around these two alerts yesterday…

On Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at approximately 8:03 am, Decatur Police responded to a report of a gun shot in the 200 block of Robin Street.  Officers arrived and found an adult male in the stairwell of one of the apartment buildings with an apparent gunshot wound.  The male was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  Decatur Police investigators as well as GBI crime scene investigators are on scene.  The identity of the victim is not being released at this time as we are working to notify his family.  If you have any information about this case, please contact Crime Stoppers at 404/577-TIPS or the Decatur Police Department at 404/373-6551.

The victim has been identified as 52-year-old Gerard Foster of Decatur.  Investigators are following up on potential leads.  Additional details are not being released at this time.
