Rock on Alex Cooley.
Alex was responsible for the Atlanta International Pop Festival on July 4, 1970. It took place in a local pecan orchard adjacent to the Middle Georgia Raceway in Byron, Georgia.

In the article DM posts… “Those concerts came to an end when there was an organized effort by leaders and concerned residents to rid Midtown of its “hippie” culture.” I wonder if similar efforts led to the closing of the Catacombs that was at Peachtree and 14th.
BOOOOOOOO on Mezza closing–it was our go-to for authentic chicken shawarma, grilled halloumi, and lots of other Lebanese dishes that either aren’t done elsewhere, or not done nearly as well.
Really hate to see that, and would love to see the Bitars open something in City of Decatur!
