Improving the bathrooms and concession stand at Oakhurst Park is a great idea. They are used extensively by general park users, baseball teams, softball teams, and tennis players.

        AHID,

First you had a random “13678-1`O`” post. Now a double post in the wrong thread. Soon you’ll be non-replying in the thread brianc style. Let’s get it together.

But I changed a word! Actually, I first saw the Oakhurst Park renovation here (“Oakhurst, McKoy Parks slated for improvements [AJC]”) then I saw that it got its own post where my comment was even more relevant.

BTW, I’m due for a change in screen name and am considering 13678-1`O`. The only downside that I can think of so far is that it’s a little hard to pronounce

I highly recommend the Utz article on Decatur taxes– even if you have a full grasp on all of the items that go into your tax bill, the article is a great resource to pass along to any confused friends/neighbors.

I appreciate the level of detail in the Utz article, but the comparison doesn’t include the proposed $75M school bond. It would add another $500 a year to the theoretical $400k house.

The mileage rate is also going down for CoD residents, resulting in some tax relief. It wasn’t intended to be a “what if” scenario, just a look at what goes into current calculations.
