Open Streets in Emory Village Tomorrow Afternoon
Decatur Metro | September 20, 2014 | 5:19 pmCheck it…
Open Streets DeKalb in Emory Village is right around the corner – Sunday, September 21, 3-7pm in Emory Village.
As the streets close, the performers come out! Sample the specials from Village businesses, stroll in the street as a cappella groups, choirs, and improv troupes share the curb with jugglers, stilt walkers and face painting. Bouncy houses , bicycle repair, plus a fire truck and a Farm mobile sustainable food truck will all be on site. Jam with the Jazzercise group, swing your hips with the hoola hoop team, and listen for the drum ensemble, as neighbors take to the streets. Stroll, cycle or salsa your way to the Village this Sunday – you won’t be disappointed!

Might go but where can you park without getting booted?
“Open streets” really means that the streets are closed.
Hope this is fun for the people who can get there without a car. The rest of is would be crazy to try.
Emory has two parking decks within walking distance that are free and open to the public on Sunday.
It was not crowded at all (which I guess the organizer might not have been happy with?). Free parking in the Emory decks which is right next door. My 7 and 4 year olds had a great time, though. Everything for kids was free. Considering the money we spent to get into a packed JapanFest the day before we all had a better time being outside at Emory.
