Have you ever worked in a circus? The animals in a circus are prized assets of the business. Don’t believe everything you hear from PETA and similar sources.
What does her having worked in a circus or not, have to do with what is being discussed? I won’t bother asking you the same irrelevant question. I don’t agree with PETA on many things and in general think they do more harm to their cause than good, but the videos speak for themselves. While you are discouraging people to not believe everything PETA says, perhaps you shouldn’t believe everything Ringling says either? They aren’t exactly motive free.

I loved going to the circus as a child, and I think that’s a decision for parents to make, not me or you, but either way everyone should do so with open eyes.
+1. The statement “prized assets of the business” is a little scary. Living, breathing animals just aren’t meant to spend there lives like that – period. And I haven’t worked at a circus, but I was at Phillips one day about 5 years ago when Ringling was in town, (for a meeting that was unrelated), snuck a peak at the elephant training session, and have seen the “training methods” with my own eyes.
I agree. Thank you. I cannot understand why so many commentators on this web site seem to give unquestioned, even cheer leading, support of corporate interests be it Barnum and Bailey in this case or Wal-Mart on another thread.
AnotherRick- So disappointed to read this because I’ve always thought you to be a fair and openminded guy. Speaking for me, if anything, I’m guilty of over analyzing the Walmart situation. Now will you please answer my questions on the other thread?
Lions and tigers and bears, oh my.
There they go – off to torture animals in another city.

Look Daddy! An Elephant Hook!
Change that to black and white and it could be a 75 year old picture.

Where are the cars with the ornate scrolling and bars so you can see the animals inside?
