Pumpkin Sales at Renfroe and Glennwood Going on Now

Decatur Metro | October 6, 2011

Laurie writes in…

The GREAT PUMPKIN SALE and Fund-raiser for Renfroe Middle School and Glennwood Elementary has begun!  Pumpkins of all sizes and lots of exotics too! Weekends in October at Renfroe Middle School on College Ave. and Glennwood Elementary School on Ponce De Leon Ave.

Please support your school and buy a gorgeous pumpkin!

According to another note from the Renfroe PTA “Last year the sales raised thousands of dollars that went towards improving our children’s educational experiences.”

I was told by someone on the Glennwood PTO last week that they weren’t doing pumpkins. Can you double check that?

I heard this too, but the Glennwood newsletter says pumpkins will be sold Saturdays and Sundays this month at the school. Maybe the sale is not coordinated by GES but just taking advantage of the good real estate?

Laurie says that Renfroe is coordinating and selling the pumpkins at both schools.

Only buy my pumpkins from CSD PTO/As! Always hold up well and the Great Pumpkin smiles on those who contribute to CSD!

It works for Christmas trees too!

Yes and I’m a long-time aficianado of Winnona Park trees, and before that, Westchester trees. However, I’ve been conflicted the last few years–First Christian Church delivers tree and puts it in your tree stand so there’s no top of car roof transport and getting the tree down and in the house issues. I waffle on this.

We picked up three bigguns and a bunch of littleuns. Very nice pumpkins and the adults and kids doing all the work were very nice and very helpful.
