Nice photo of West Ponce. Going towards the square on the right just past the Fairview Building was the home of the McKinney family, members of a small but growing Catholic community in Decatur. I remember when their home was torn down and a Gulf gas station was built (now a taco restaurant) One of those homes on the left is still there today. On the right is the Sharian Building, which is, in my opinion, the most attractive commercial building in Decatur.
One other thing I notice is no bike baths. How on earth did Decatur get by without any bike paths?

That’s no W Ponce, is it? Looks like the Ga Pacific building in the background.

Oh perfect! A root beer festival, which is bound to attract children, being held exactly where a beer festival, attracting thousands of adults in various stages of intoxication, is just perfect. A good time to teach your children about the dangers of demon alcohol, I guess.

I’ll try not to scare any near-by children as I race from beer tent to beer tent.

Our household has a double sad today as the Braves and Red Sox leave contention.

      Next year
