Decatur Adult Prom Gets Front Page New York Times Mention
Decatur Metro | May 12, 2011
New York Times’ writer Jennifer Medina contacted me last week about our #1 Google search result for “Adult Prom” wondering if the coordinators of the event could contact her about an article she was writing. I forwarded the note onto Joe and Michelle and they gave her a call. It doesn’t look like any of their quotes were used, but hey, a New York Times mention for an event that hasn’t taken place yet is still pretty cool!
This is prime prom season, the time when teenage girls spend hundreds of dollars for what they hope will be the perfect night. But in an increasing number of cities those teenagers searching for their prom gowns are brushing elbows with grown women, some at least double their age. Adult proms have already taken place in Fort Wayne, Ind., and Beverly, Mass., this year. Others are planned in Decatur, Ga., and Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Decaturite16 tells me the story is on the front-page of the hard-copy.
Tickets for the May 20th Decatur Adult Prom are still on sale for $40 each through DM. And remember, all proceeds benefit the Decatur Education Foundation! Click below to order!

Wow! That is great! Joe & Michelle are the bee’s knees!

Woohoo Joe and Michelle! Woohoo Decatur Adult Prom!
I got my dress yesterday. Hilariously, the prom dress section was right next to the Maternity section. The signs were so close together they were practically touching.
