Decatur Public Works Open House and Input Session
Decatur Metro | November 9, 2010This is now all over the frackin’ place, but this particular version was forwarded to me by Decatur Commissioner Patti Garrett…
The City of Decatur has employed Stevens & Wilkinson Architects to design the renovation of the Decatur Public Works Facility at 2635 Talley Street. This facility presently houses the Decatur Public Works Department, including the City’s Solid Waste Collection, Motor Maintenance, Facilities Maintenance and Engineering Divisions.
A community open house will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 11, in the lobby of the Decatur Public Works Building where you can learn more about and help plan the project. The open house will begin with a presentation of the project’s goals and will provide an opportunity for the public to ask questions and offer their comments about the project.
For additional information, contact Hugh Saxon, Deputy City Manager, at 678-553-6507.

Time to show some love for the hard working Public Works team! Please at least go hear them out. That building is d-i-s-m-a-l! And tiny! Lord knows how they’re even able to carry out all of their functions there!
And they are some of the friendliest folks in the world. They wave at all the kids, many of whom they met in kindergarten expeditions! Learning about them was one of the best parts of Decatur 101.
