Good-bye Stucco, Hello Brick
Decatur Metro | July 15, 2010 | 10:24 amConstruction at the new location of Cakes & Ale is well underway at the intersection of Sycamore Dr. and Church St. and all that lovely brown stucco is finally being removed from the quiet eastern elevation.
If the rumors are true, the restaurant plans to install a door and windows along this wall before all is said and done.
A pic of the construction action along the Sycamore Sidewalk can be viewed after the jump.

I think this is going to be a great addition to the square area. If they do in fact put some seating outside that corner will look more inviting than it has in years!
Oh my goodness. Somehow I missed the bulletin that C&A is moving “uptown.” The most delicious restaurant in Decatur, moving even closer to my home… this could be dangerous.
Soon me and my boys can finally go hang around, ogle ladies, and smoke in front of a classy joint. Sweet!
Any idea on when the construction and the move will be completed? I hope another restaurant goes into the current C&A location.
The word from Billy Allin is Square Cakes and Ale is scheduled for an October opening.
Had my first ever meal at C&A last night. Best pork chop I’ve had since my grandm passed.
