Cobb County Declares Rusty Tanton Better Than Sheriff of Nottingham
Decatur Metro | December 9, 2008 | 12:53 pmIn the recent election for Cobb County Tax Commissioner, lovable Decatur blogger (and DeKalb County resident) Rusty Tanton received more votes than the evil, “I’ll cut your heart out with a spoon!” Sheriff of Nottingham, beating him by a 3 to 1 margin. Actually, that WAS the vote: 3 to 1.
Tanton credits his small but symbolic victory to the level of restraint he demonstrated by putting off threats of death with blunt utensils until after Election Day.
A more extensive list of those write-ins defeated by Tanton can be found over on his self-titled blog.
Oh, and Wheatley gets the tip o’ the hat.

From this day forth, all the toilets in the kingdom shall be known as… johns!
