On Tuesday, DeKalb Commissioners approved $160,000 for four air-conditioned animal transport trucks.

DeKalb CEO Vernon Jones has made treatment of stray animals his issue. Rep. Stan Watson has also jumped on the issue in his bid to replace Jones.

Next up, the $6 mil it will take to build a new shelter.

In other pet news, The Southern Hope Humane Society has a new ad campaign called “Don’t Get a Dog“.  Along with pictures of abused and neglected dogs, there’s a “Don’t Get a Dog if…” list.
