On at least 3 different occasions in the last 3 months, I was home (inside the Decatur city limits) when the city came to pick up yard trimmings and branches. Each time, they were thrown in the same big truck (not just a scooter) as the pay as you through trash. Has Decatur always sent yard waste to the landfill? Is this news to anyone?
What I have heard is that the landfill coverts yard waste to compost and mulch, which I think is free to county residents.
