The Poke Craze Continues: PokeDrop Coming to Decatur
Decatur Metro | March 23, 2017 | 11:13 am
Let the comparisons to the yogurt shop craze of the early 20-teens begin!
Less than two months after we discovered that a Poke restaurant would soon be opening in the old Yogurt Tap location in Downtown Decatur, another Poke restaurant is popping up just around the corner.
A reader sent in this pic of the PokeDrop and JuiceDrop announcing that they’re coming to the former Salon Red space on East Ponce de Leon Ave. Can’t find any info about the company online, but to be overly obvious – the signs on the windows show bowls of Poke and bottles of juice.

Lest we forget the city’s seemingly endless Pizza Wars, dating back to Oz and Johnny’s. Maybe even Pizza by Candlelight. Or the Great Ice Cream Skirmish of the early 2000s, when Coldstone battled Jakes and both battled some place across from the Depot I can’t remember the name.
Ashton’s!
Yesh!
And a gelato place that was in Café Lily’s spot. And of course Dairy Queen won.
Poke is the new FroYo.
Scott: I think it was Ashton’s across from the tracks
I can’t wait for the alkaline water craze.
My sister-in-law spent several years living in Los Angeles and has recently moved back to midtown.
She is into the alkaline water craze and according to her, there is a place in Marietta where one can obtain it. She drives up there regularly to replenish her supply.
This new place is opening up a two front war battling for supremacy in both Poke and Fresh Juice.
They’ll have Poke Perfect on one side, Kale Me Crazy on the other.
I usually sit on the sidelines and wait to see who survives, but I’m afraid that the Poke craze may be over before I get around to trying it.
maybe if either of these places had parking…….
I got turned on to poke on my honeymoon 15 years ago in Hawaii. I love it!
