Decatur Says Street Lights Along Ponce Will Be Repaired Soon
Decatur Metro | October 27, 2016 | 4:08 pmFrom the Decatur Minute…
Several blocks of street lamps along Ponce de Leon Avenue near the Old Courthouse have been out for weeks. Georgia Power was working to find the cause and had isolated the problem to a faulty underground service line.
Before they could start on a repair, they had to pull all of their crews to help restore power to south Georgia and adjacent states in the aftermath of hurricane Matthew. Georgia Power is now back on the project and we have been assured they will make it their top priority.

Hopefully, they can start putting in acceptable lighting. The Beta lamps are better, yet, still unacceptably bright, as are the other lamps they have been putting in, lately. “Industrial ghetto” does not fit in with Decatur. Nor, any where else, for that matter. How about some class?
I haven’t heard that the lights in the post lamps will be changed. The issue described has nothing to do with the replacement of street lights elsewhere.
I’m sure you didn’t mean anything by it, but maybe rethink your use of the word ghetto.
Jimmini Christmas political correctness police!
Are we waaaaaaay too offended as a society in general?
wow.
