OK, I’ll start things off.
I’m tired of playing natural gas provider roulette every year. We currently have Scana, and they are offering a renewal price of .5290.
Georgia Natural Gas is offering .379. Similar service charges.
Rather than switch (AGAIN) what are my chances Scana will match GNG’s rate?
What’s the promo code for the $.379 rate?
I’ll only tell you if promise to give me 50% of your savings.
Be sure you’re saving as much as you think. There is a fixed AGL and account charge that doesn’t change. How many total CCF did you use in the past 12 months and do the math for the per unit difference between old and new rates.
Good morning! I cant’ believe I’m first! Anyway, just checking in to see if anyone knows when the DQ will be re-opening in their new space? I have been checking here on DM regularly to see if there has been an announcement. Hope it’s soon!
Officially on Monday. http://www.decaturmetro.com/2016/10/25/eye-on-the-street-698/
Halloween! http://thedecaturminute.com/2016/10/26/dairy-queen-grand-opening/
Guess I should put up a post. 🙂
I like the “soft serve” opening on Sunday, Ha!
No “soft serve” today. Tomorrow is the opening. 10 AM ribbon cutting, etc. Normal weekday hours are 10:30 – ? (didn’t pay attention to the end of the day; I think 10 PM).
We witnessed the darnedest thing while walking our dog in the highlands last night. An older white man in a dark hoodie spray painted a Hillary yard sign and the homeowners saw it from their porch. They yelled “what are you doing, etc.” and a heated discussion ensued — mostly yelling from the homeowners. Amazingly, the guy stuck around, not putting up much of a fight. The wife called the police while the husband held the perp down.
We moved on since they seem to have it under control. When we walked back around to return to our car, the police had arrived with the perp on the ground. We could hear the two policemen lecturing to him “it’s bad for business.” My God… is he a local business owner?? As we walked away, they were putting him in the squad car. I am happy to report a peaceful resolution to a potentially volatile situation.
Can we somehow spray paint both major party candidates out of existence?
You know, I think Republicans should be grateful Clinton is the nominee and soon to be President. Hear me out. If any other Democrat had won (including Sanders), the ensuing landside would have swept not only the Senate away but the House too. And Clinton will almost certainly be a vulnerable incumbent 4 years from now. Moreover, she’s hardly a radical liberal on policy; imagine Sanders plus a Democratic Congress.
Of course, one could probably say the same thing about Dems being grateful for Trump as the nominee. In terms of the result, sure, but Trump is such a dangerous menace and has so vulgarized the process it’s harder to make that case.
That’s some stretch. Sanders was a fringe, hard left candidate who would get zero votes from the middle. “Free stuff” as policy only goes so far.
Democrats should be glad Trump is the candidate – because almost anyone else would be trouncing HRC after all this late and horrible press about the Clinton Foundation, the intentionally hidden and deleted emails, her health, her abrasive management style, probably illegal collusion with the WH and unpalatable collusion with the press, utter collapse of her foreign policy, skyrocketing healthcare, etc.
She’s so bad, she could barely beat an insane socialist posing as a democrat and is barely beating an insane whatever-he-is posing as a republican. Only the GOP suicide run this cycle has kept her in the race.
He’s obviously in the painting business.
I just want to bring up here, since it was recommended to me here, that if you all have not watched Rectify yet, you are really missing out. Fourth season just started and the first 3 are on Netflix. Do yourself a favor and watch them. One of the best TV shows ever made.
Seconded on Rectify. I also highly recommend One Mississippi on Amazon Prime. Similar milieu, but in a sitcom format.
It seems like the golf carts have gotten more popular in Avondale Estates in the past year or so. What is the backstory on this? Anyone know why this is a thing in AE?
I understand it in a place like Peachtree City but do not quite get it for Avondale.
A few years ago, a new law allowed cities to prepare plans for routes that can accommodate golf carts. If cities didn’t adopt their own plan, then the state law governed. I don’t know if Avondale has its own plan, but you don’t have to be Peachtree City to allow golf cart usage on public roads. There are some restrictions on state roads, but you can cross them if it’s in your plan.
What are the rules about golf cart and/of LSV usage on the roads in City of Decatur.
I don’t know, but everytime I see that guy driving his golf cart on Scott Boulevard by Superior I think to myself “Charles Darwin’s got an award for him.” When he’s got his kids with him, though, ugh…
State law defines a low speed vehicle (w plate) as 4 wheels, electric, and a top speed of 21-25mph. And cannot drive on roads w a speed limit greater than 35 mph. And of course, still need a low-speed license plate. (State code 40-6-360 to 40-6-362).
The city code (98-1) accepts all the Georgia uniform rules of the road laws, which includes the low-speed vehicle sections.
I’m just a guy who’s looked this up, don’t trust me.
I’ve seen one driving around Oakhurst. But driving on Scott is nuts, regardless of the speed limit.
Anyone know if our new Highland Bakery has breads yet?
Can anyone recommend a good mechanic who works on Infinitis?
Summit Auto did a great job on my I-30 until it died last year.
Decatur Pure. Some of their technicians are Nissan factory trained.
Does anyone know what obsolete homestead exemptions will be repealed under senate bill 341 which is on this years ballot? I looked every place I know and do not find what is to be repealed.
I saw a Trump sign (online) where somebody had cut out the T and the P so it said RUM, Making America Great Again. Made me laugh.
I’ve seen another spin…
Support block cheese. Make America grate again.
On a t-shirt I saw at Porchfest, in Dead style:
Make America Grateful Again
Does anyone know what’s going on with the Ammazza pizza place that was taking over the Twisted Soul location?
Early voting this morning in downtown Decatur at the Clark building on West Ponce was quick, easy, efficient! I recommend it!
